KURDISH HISTORY DURING THE AYYUBID ERA
Kurdish History During the Ayyubid Era explores the rise of Kurdish power during one of the most influential periods in Islamic history. Tracing events from the late Seljuk decline to the fall of the Ayyubid dynasty, the book examines how Kurdish military elites transformed into imperial rulers under Saladin and his successors. It highlights the balance between Kurdish identity and Islamic universalism, the Kurdish role in the Crusades, governance, culture, and religious life, and the challenges that followed Saladin's death. This volume presents the Ayyubid era as the political and symbolic apex of medieval Kurdish history.
