Born and raised in Nashville, Mero earned his law degree from Vanderbilt and is now working toward a PhD in Criminal Law. When he isn’t studying, he’s a dedicated researcher and writer deeply passionate about all things related to Kurdish history and culture.
A proud Kurdish patriot, Mero traces his roots to Ranya in South Kurdistan. Despite the rigors of his PhD studies and his prolific research into Kurdish history, he finds his only true reprieve during his annual month-long summer pilgrimage to Kurdistan with his family. For Mero, these trips are a vital disconnection from his work and a reconnection with his heritage.
